Q. Can your speech recognition service recognise regional accents and dialects?
A. Yes, provided the dialogue guides people towards giving the right information. The recogniser is trained on a huge corpus of speech from all over the UK, men and women, young and old. If the user provides the right information, we recognise on average over 91% of utterances on the first attempt. Dialect is not the difficulty, eliciting the appropriate response is.
