Eckoh and Hillarys Scoop Retail Systems Award
Friday, 04 November 2016

The Eckoh team is celebrating with its client Hillarys as we picked up the best ‘Security/Anti-fraud Initiative’ at the Retail Systems Award 2016.

Hillarys win 900

Over 400 guests packed into the Millennium Hotel London Mayfair to celebrate the best in technology and innovation within the retail sector. Eckoh and Hillarys came away winners with the secure payments system that Eckoh recently implemented at Hillarys' contact centre and made available to Hillarys' nationwide network of sales advisors.

'It is a real honour to receive the award for Security/Anti-fraud initiative from the judges at the Retail Systems Awards in the face of such tough competition.' said Nik Philpot, CEO of Eckoh. 'Eckoh helps many retail organisations face the challenge of eliminating fraud and protecting their customers' data. Hillarys is one of our most valued clients who has recognised the benefits of using CallGuard within their organisation and we are delighted to have won this award with them.'

Eckoh's card data security system called CallGuard, meets the notoriously difficult IT challenge of securing payments made over the phone with agents. It stops customers' card details from being seen or heard by contact centre agents, or stored within their systems. This not only protects customer data from the threat of fraud, but also meets strict Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

Rather than speak their card details over the phone, customers are asked to input them using their telephone keypad. The data is then intercepted in Eckoh's secure hosted platform and kept entirely outside of Hillarys' networks, systems, call recordings and desktop computers.

Julian Bond from Hillarys said: 'Our business is very pleased with the solution, but it is always a bonus when the initiative's merits are recognised by our industry peers. Hillarys has always taken very seriously the security of its customers' data, which is why we chose to work with Eckoh to adopt leading-edge technology to keep us at the forefront of best practice and maintaining our compliance with the increasing requirements of PCI DSS. The partnership has been a huge success and we can sleep at night knowing our customers' data is secure in a world where the threat of payment card fraud is ever evolving.'
