MiFID is the EU legislation that regulates firms who provide services to clients linked to ‘financial instruments’ such as bonds, units in collective investment schemes and derivatives. It includes the venues where these instruments are traded.

MiFID II is a robust set of measures to strengthen financial stability and is aimed at ensuring maximum transparency in markets, increasing protection for investors through stronger due diligence and disclosures and reinforcing the supervisory power of the regulators.
