This solution is a combination of secure devices, applications and processes that encrypts data at the point of reading e.g. a payment card (by swipe or dip) and decrypts the data at the gateway.

This is a standard to ensure card-present transactions are secure from the point of card reading through to the payment authorisation.

However, here are the top three things that P2PE cannot do:

  • De-scope your contact center
  • Make you PCI DSS compliant
  • Offer a cheap solution
